New UK Points Based Immigration System
Highly skilled workers across the globe including India, will benefit from full-time Jobs in UK from 2021 onwards. On 19 February 2020 Priti Patel, the Home Secretary of the State for International Development in England introduces a new UK point-based immigration system.
The new UK immigration point system is typically based on the point based Australian immigration system. These points will be allocated for the specific professions, skills, qualifications, wages with the aim of filling the scarcity of the highly skilled jobs in UK after the Brexit.
One of the uplifting news is that it will be easier to hire the skilled people at the medium level. The Regulated Qualifications Framework entry level 3 qualification is also being to include in the new UK point-based immigration system.
The skilled migrants all over the globe who wish to apply for the highly skilled migrant program in UK in 2021 will have to score total of 70 points to become eligible to submit the application. Let us see below how these points will be allocated to the immigrants.

The new UK Point based immigration System will exclude the general / temporary work visa categories for the low-skilled workers in order to prevent companies from relying solely on ‘ cheap foreign workers ‘ to fill job vacancies.
Under the current UK immigration system of Tier 2 skilled immigrants require a degree and a minimum wage of £ 30,000 per annum which is quite higher as compared with the new point-based immigration. The relevantly low criteria means that skilled migrants from India are easily the biggest winner, said by the managing director of EPG.
The only group allowed to come to the UK without a job offer will be highly skilled scientists and researchers, including those who are EU citizens. The seasonal work visas will be increased from 2.5k to 10k and the EU workers will be allowed to stay up to six months without visa as per the TOI news.
Significantly, there will be no specific route to UK for low skilled migrants under the new point-based immigration system. The UK Home Office said it evaluated 70 percent of the current EU workforce in Britain would not meet the necessities of the skilled worker route requirements.
The significant blemish is that the changes in the immigration policy will worsen Britain’s incessant work deficiencies in the vocational skills, which have depended so vigorously on Eastern Europeans Countries.
