You'll also demonstrate the competencies of a beginning registered nurse and to meet the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) requirements for registration as a registered nurse This degree is designed to prepare skilled, competent, culturally safe, confident, ethical and reflective practitioners equipped with recognised professional knowledge, attitudes and values for professional nursing practice. Award information To achieve the award of the Bachelor of Nursing, students must pass a total of 360 credits: 345 compulsory and 15 elective credits; a minimum of 72 credits at level 7 (this programme contains 120 credits at level 7); Students must also: complete the study requirements within five years of first enrolment in the programme; undertake and complete a minimum of 1500 hours of theory; and 1100 hours of specified industry based work experience.
    Entry criteria Admission and entry requirements for this qualification are in accordance with the academic regulations and the following NZQA requirements for university entrance: NCEA Level 3 Three subjects at Level 3, made up of 14 credits each, in three approved subjects Literacy - 10 credits at Level 2 or above, made up of 5 credits in reading, and 5 credits in writing Numeracy - 10 credits at Level 1 or above, made up of: specified achievement standards available through a range of subjects, or unit standards - package of three numeracy unit standards (26623, 26626, 26627- all three required). English Language Competency Applicants must have a minimum International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of at least 6.5 in all bands. In the event that concern is raised related to communication competency in the English language, any student may be requested to undertake the IELTS test during the programme.
