Competency Assessment Programme for Nurses


Course Description :
    If you are a nurse who has registered overseas, or one who wants to return to clinical practice after time away, this programme will help you apply for your annual practising certificate. LEVEL 7 Short Course This is a 7-12 week programme which involves simulated practice assessments, clinical placements and assessments in hospitals or the community, completion of a range of worksheets, and a Treaty of Waitangi workshop and one assignment. This programme has three intakes per year. Intakes: February, May, October Credit Value: 24 NZQA Level: 7 Learning Hours: 40 Clinical Hours: 200 Aims This programme integrates theory and practice and gives the overseas registered nurse, or the registered nurse who has been away from clinical practice, the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to meet the New Zealand Nursing Council Competencies for the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice and thereby apply for an annual practising certificate.
