Course Description :
    Programme aim Further your knowledge and professional practice within your field of practice. In this programme students will apply advanced knowledge in a range of contexts that will complement their current experience and/or qualifications. This qualification enables professionals in leadership roles to maintain currency and develop their discipline by ongoing professional development. Specialist endorsements in this programme Mentoring and Leadership (Arahitanga Whakapono) Adult Teaching (Whakaako Pakeke) Vulnerable Peoples (Whakaraerae) Infection Prevention and Control (Arai Whakapokenga) Award information Students must pass a total of 120 credits, including: 15 credits from compulsory course PROF.8001; and 105 credits from the relevant endorsement list. OR 15 credits from compulsory course PROF.8001; 90 credits from the relevant endorsement list; and 15 credits from another endorsement. Graduates will be able to: supervise and mentor others in their field of study; communicate effectively in an inter and intra cultural environment; work across interdisciplinary boundaries; critically evaluate existing research; use research to solve problems; and work as reflective practitioners. Entry criteria Admission and entry requirements for this qualification are in accordance with the academic regulations and the following criteria: Have access a relevant workplace Have a degree, graduate certificate, or graduate diploma in a cognate subject; OR have the Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Professional Studies with the relevant endorsement Completion of a post-secondary school diploma in a related discipline at NZQA level 7 or equivalent from a recognised tertiary provider Demonstration of at least two years relevant practical experience with at least two written references (employer and character) Every candidate shall be approved by the faculty dean In exceptional circumstances, based on academic merit and relevant experience, students who do not meet the academic and practical or professional experience requirements above may be considered for admission subject to the completion of any qualifying courses the dean may prescribe which must be completed either prior to course commencement or concurrently with their study. English language requirements Applicants without endorsements or with the Mentoring and Leadership or Adult Teaching endorsement: an overall IELTS score of at least 6.5 with no band score lower than 6.0, or equivalent test level; issued within the last two years Applicants with the Vulnerable Peoples, or Infection Prevention and Control endorsement: an overall IELTS score of at least 7.0 with no band score lower than 7.0, or equivalent test level; issued within the last two years
